Margaret's Poppy Seed Bread

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cups poppy seeds
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups white flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon rind or Real lemon
- If real lemon is used add 1-2 tablespoons of flour
Directions:
- Heat but do not boil, milk and poppy seeds
- Cream butter and brown sugar
- Add eggs one at a time, beat thoroughly after each one.
- Sift together white flour, baking powder, salt
- Add vanilla and lemon
- Bake in greased loaf pan for 40 to 50 minutes at 350 Degrees
